Loving 

John 15: 12 ESV

“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.”

Two issues in this statement by Jesus, the last part states that Jesus wants us to love each other like He loves us. His love was put into action by coming to this earth to give His life for all mankind. His love just the night before washed the disciple’s feet. His love was forthright, honest, pure and effective.

The second issue is the way we love others. We have our favorite people; they are easy to love. Then we have those that we tolerate, we say we love them, but can we love them like Jesus loves them. Then we have those brother and sister sandpaper people that we just do not like to be around much, Christians that I’m talking about. How do we love them? Can we love them and serve them like Jesus does? That is the real question.

Prayer:

Lord, help us to love like You loved us. Help us to look beyond faults and express Your heart to them. We may not have to be best friends with them, but we can carry Your heart to them. Help us Lord, In Your name we ask, Amen!
