With My Whole Heart
Psalms 119:10-11 ESV
“With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments.”
David gives a command for real life, seeking God with our whole heart should be our quest. Imagine being in a relationship where you were listened to, part of the time, paid attention to, part of the time, communicated with, part of the time. That relation is doomed to fail. If we want a healthy relationship, should we not give our attention to the other person intently?
Should it be any different in our relationship with God? If we fail Him in these areas, what do we expect from God? Yes, I know God is faithful even when we are not, but do we think that is a healthy relationship, where the relationship is one sided? We should want to do what pleases God, to seek Him often, to seek Him daily, to read His words daily, and to communicate with Him continually through the day and evening.
Prayer:
Lord, with our whole heart, we seek You this morning. We want to know what You want us to know today. We want to know where You want us to go today and do the things that You want us to do today. Mostly, we want to hear from You today in Your word. Hide those words in our heart so we can grow and be productive for Your kingdom. Today we ask Lord, Your kingdom come within us today and Your will be done in us today. Amen!
