Pleasing Jesus
2 Corinthians 5:6-9 ESV
“So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight. Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord. So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please him.”
Some think it would be easier to be at home with the Lord, and that may be true, but the Lord knows that there are people here that need us to help them along their way. So, He keeps us here to serve, to pray, to stand in faith with others, to believe for others when they cannot believe. Perhaps to strengthen and encourage someone, and to give them the hard facts if need be.
There are people that you are praying for that no one else is praying for. Did you know that people are waiting to hear a kind word, or an affirmation, or an “I love you” from you?
We may be ready to be with Jesus, but obviously He is not done with us here. Is there more that He would have us to do? Perhaps we are here to be a strength for someone, a shoulder to cry on, someone to lean on spiritually. Arise this morning with purpose and stand in faith for someone. They need you to point them to the Savior, or they need you because you represent the Savior to them for a time.
Prayer:
Lord, use us in the way that You desire. Help us to point souls to You. Help us to sing, to preach at times and to pray, to stand in the gap for someone. Help us to be Jesus to those around us and those in our circle of influence. In Your name Lord Jesus we ask, Amen!
