Everything for Nothing
Isaiah 55:1 ESV
“Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.”
Try to picture this scene with me: The Father, the Creator of the vast universe comes and stands before us and says to us, “If You need help, I can help, and it will cost you nothing. Just follow me, trust me, lean on me, rest in me. Let me be your guide, let me be your strong right hand, let me be your vindicator, protector and provider. Let me be your Father, Savior, Your friend and guide, all you have to do is trust me explicitly.”
What do we say to Him, “yes I will,” and follow through with our commitment, or say “no, You are asking too much for what I want and need?”
It doesn’t seem like a hard choice. Follow God and let Him provide a way or trust ourselves to get things done.
Prayer:
Lord I will trust and obey, for there is no other way to be happy, fulfilled, than in You and through You. Sometimes life is not fair, but You never said that this world would be fair. You only promised to walk through every valley with us. I’ll choose You Lord, Amen!
