Justice, Mercy, and Walking with God
Micah 6:8 ESV
“He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God.”
Start out today with the purpose in mind to do the right thing… and stick to that plan.
These are the things that will honor the Lord today:
1. Be just. Justice in the Biblical sense is not only about what is fair from our own perspective but is woven with the very character of God in it and through it. It should reflect His righteousness, His fairness, and His moral perfection. It should be grounded in the truth, His truth. Our justice should reflect His justice.
2. Loving Mercy and Kindness. We should want to do good to others and for others. Going out of our way to be kind and offering another chance, even when they do not deserve it. After all, do we deserve the mercy that we receive daily from the Lord?
3. Walking Humbly with God. This faith walk that we have is NOT in timidity. It is knowing who we are in Christ and walking with Him knowing who we have been in the past, and what we want to be in the future. It is a privilege, an honor, something that we did not deserve but He chooses to walk with us freely anyway. We walk with Him without fear or timidity.
Prayer:
Lord, help us today to be who You designed us to be. To reflect You, to reflect Your glory. Help us to represent You today to the world, to our loved ones, and to those who are not so lovable. In Your name Lord Jesus, Amen!
