Jesus Living in Us

Galatians 2:20 NLT
“My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”

As humans we often fall prey to our thoughts and feelings. We see life through our eyes, our thoughts, and our feelings. I have a shocking reality to tell you this morning; I am not always right in my thoughts, and my feelings. My physical and spiritual eyes do not always decipher things the way they really are.

I have to catch myself in making judgments too quickly of the things that I see and experience, justifying my thoughts from past events. Is that a correct assessment? The short answer is no.

I remind myself that the old sinful nature has been crucified with Christ. That old nature is still hanging on the cross. The new person that I have become is the person that sees through Christ’s eyes, listens through Christ’s ears, and perceives things the way Jesus would perceive them. My judgment has to be according to His standards not my old nature.

Prayer:
Lord, we often forget that we are not of this world. When we accepted You as Savior of our lives, we stated, per se, that we crucified that old nature, and we now live life through You and You live in and though our lives. The old way of thinking, even self-judgment, should not be our current way of thinking. Our new way of thinking should be sound, honorable, considerate above reproach, and the way You want us to see ourselves and others. Amen!
