Getting Back on the Path
Luke 24:44-47a ESV
“Then he said to them, “These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.”
Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, and said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, and that repentance for the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations…”
The disciples were called for a purpose, a plan. They had forgotten what they were taught, but Jesus came and put them back on the path again. He opened up to them understanding of all that was said in the prophets and what He had taught them.
I have to believe He does the same for you and me. Sometimes we forget what is important in life. Family, friends, careers, finances seem to take up most of our time, but what have we been taught? What have we learned from the Lord? Jesus taught us that while these things are important, don’t forget who should be first. Balance is the key to finding our fulfilment in this life.
Love God with all of our hearts, minds, and souls, and love our neighbor as ourselves. God comes first, maintaining that relationship with God everyday will ensure that we will reach our destiny, we will find our place in this life, and we will accomplish all that we have been designed for.
We will have the family life, we will have the friends we need, we will find the right pathway, we will be fulfilled if we put Him first.
Prayer:
Open our eyes Lord to the truth found in Your words. Set our feet on the right pathway. Teach us to put You first, then we will find the fulfillment of this life and the life to come. In Your name we ask, Amen!
