The Tree that Stands by the River
Psalms 1:1-3 NLT
“Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers. But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do.”
I know some days we do not feel like a tree that stands by the river, but that is where God planted us. When He planted us there, His purpose was to bless and prosper us.
He gives a few guidelines; (1) Keep your joy and (2) do not follow the advice of the people that are foolish. (3) Do not hang around those people who continuously pull you down. (4) Do not get caught up with people that have empty rhetoric. Instead, (5) Get enthralled with God, every day. (6) meditate on God’s words continuously. (7) Praise God, worship God with some good Cristian music.
When we follow these guidelines, we will be that thriving tree that God intended for us to be. A person that looks good, has exuberant joy, and is productive. Then and only then, whatever we do will prosper. That is a prescription for living in the fullness of God.
Prayer:
Father, You planted us right where You wanted us to be. As we obey Your commands and Your word is hidden in my heart, prosper us. Help us to be productive, alive, energetic, and full of joy. In Your Holy name Father we ask, Amen!
