The Lord Will Hide Us in Times of Trouble

Exodus 14:19-20 ESV
“Then the angel of God who was going before the host of Israel moved and went behind them, and the pillar of cloud moved from before them and stood behind them, coming between the host of Egypt and the host of Israel. And there was the cloud and the darkness. And it lit up the night without one coming near the other all night.”

Miracle within the miracles. There were so many miracles within the miracle of the parting of the Red Sea, no wonder this is a story that has been passed down for thousands of years. Get the picture: Israel is pinned between the oncoming Egyptians and the Red Sea. Panic ensues, suddenly God parts the red sea and a huge pathway opens up a way for the Israelites to escape.

As the Israelites are rushing through this large gap in the sea, the angel of the Lord goes from leading the way and moves behind the Israelites. The cloud that was leading now moves behind and blocks the sight of the Israelites seeing the Egyptians and blocks the sight of the Egyptians from seeing the Israelites.

As the night passes and all two million Israelites get through the Red Seabed, The Egyptians are in the middle of the Red Seabed pursuing the Israelities. God hid the Israelites from the enemy. If God can do that for two million Jews in a precarious situation, He can hide us from the enemy when we are trusting in Him and believing in Him.

“Lord, You are my hiding place, You always fill my heart with songs of deliverance, whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You.” (song: You are my Hiding Place) In Your name Lord Jesus. Hide me from my enemies. Hide me from lack, defeat, fear and troubles, Amen!
