The Glory
Romans 8:18 NASB
“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us.”
This life is hard, and it is harder on some more than others. I consider myself blessed beyond measure. The sufferings that we know now will pail in the light of His glory. We will not remember sufferings in His presence. His glory will be all we will need to see, know, and hear.
Paul wrote this, and if anyone knew about suffering, it was Paul. His account of the torment that he suffered in 2 Corinthians 11:23-30 is unbelievable. Paul could have wallowed in self-pity, but he chose to keep going. He chose to keep doing the same things that got him in trouble in the first place. That was preaching Jesus Christ, the hope of glory, our Savior and redeemer.
The glory is deposited in each and every one of us that has received Jesus Christ as Savior. It has not been manifested as yet, but we see a glimpse of it every time we hear that favorite Christian song, or we see the magnificence in a sunrise or a sunset. We catch a glimpse of this glory every time we experience a breakthrough or a healing. It’s just a taste, the full glory would blow us away.
Prayer:
Father God, “Oh the glory of His presence, we Your temple give You reverence. So arise to Your rest, and be blessed by our praise, as we glory in Your embrace, as Your presence now fills this place…” (Oh, the Glory of His Presence) Thank You Father for Your Glory! Amen!
