Crown of Life

James 1:12 ESV
“Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.”

Believers who maintain their love for Jesus while triumphing over persecution, temptation and even martyrdom will receive the crown of life. Many people will receive this crown because they died for their faith in Jesus Christ.

Any believer who has kept their faith when it was costly will receive this crown. When we stood up for Jesus when it wasn’t popular, and wasn’t social acceptable. This crown will signify that we have remained true until the end, we persevered, we held on to our belief in the Savior, no matter what the cost.

Jesus said in Revelations “Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison,  that you may be tested, and for ten days you will have tribulation. Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life.” (Revelations 2:10 ESV)

Revelations 12:11 in the NLT version says: “And they have defeated him by the blood of the Lamb and by their testimony. And they did not love their lives so much that they were afraid to die.”

Prayer:
Lord, count us faithful, strengthen us for the times of battle that we face. Do not let us shrink back or be timid. Make as bold as lions for You!
