Trust in Him
Psalms 37:5-6 ESV
“Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act. He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday.”
Committing everything to God is not always easy. We say freely that we commit everything to God, but when we actually, truthfully, take inventory of everything we do and do not commit to God. We realize we have things we hold back, we have things we want to stay in control of.
Commitment means that certain decisions are made in advance, irrespective of the circumstances. Trusting is along the same vein of thought; there is no reservation, it’s just blind faith in God that He knows better than we do what is best for our lives.
To commit ALL our ways to God, to trust Him explicitly will bring rewards; David says in this passage that when we commit to God, when we explicitly trust God; “He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday.”
When we commit to God and trust Him with everything, when troubles come, we will shine, when doubters come against us, our character will be exemplary.
When people try to treat us unfairly, the light if Jesus will illuminate our lives in such a way,
that no false testimony will stand, we will be vindicated, upheld as right and true. We will shine like the noon day sun.
Prayer:
Lord, take inventory of my life and show me what I have not committed to You. Teach me to completely trust You, because I know You know me better than I know myself, and You know what is best for me.
