Be Alert, Think and Walk Carefully
Ephesians 5:15-17 ESV
“Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.”
Our world has turned upside down. No longer is there a clear direction from the leaders of this world. .For that matter, there is no real leadership in the Christian community to rally the troops, so-to-speak. It seems as if the Christian community has stayed out of the limelight and allowed the world to take charge. So, it is up to us as individuals to take care of matters.
The first place to start is to be sure our door step is purified.(Everything we say and do needs to be with God in mind.)
This passage gives clear instructions of how to do that:
1) Our walk and our talk should be wise not foolish. Paul urges Christians to look very carefully at how they live and behave.
2) Make the best out of every opportunity, like it depends on us with God in mind!
3) There is no time for foolish thinking.
4) Know what the will of God is.
The best thing we can do in every situation is know what the will of the Lord is for our life, and for the Christian community as a whole. We are supposed to be affecting the world with our light, not the world affecting our light with their darkness.
Prayer:
God, help us! Forgive us for our insolence (rude and disrespectful behavior) and sin. Put our feet back on the right path. Remove the darkness from our home, our lives and from our Christian community!!!
