Jehovah Magen-Jehovah My Shield

Psalms 18:30 ESV
“This God—his way is perfect; the word of the Lord proves true; He is a shield (Jehovah Magen) for all those who take refuge in him.”

In ancient times, there were two kind of shields; a shield for the whole body and a smaller fist shield used in hand to hand combat. Jehovah Magen is our shield and strong defense on the battlefields of life because life is full of spiritual battles.

“For You bless the righteous, O Lord; You cover him with favor as with a shield.” Psalm 5:12

The Lord is my strength and my shield; in Him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to Him.” Psalm 28:7

The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in Whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” Psalm 18:2

“He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart (fortress).” Psalm 91:4

“But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one.” 2 Thessalonians 3:3

The Bible says God is a shield to those who walk uprightly (Proverbs 2:7).

Trust Him, rely on Him, let Him be our shield to quench every fiery darts of the evil one.

Prayer:
Father, shield me from harm, danger, sickness and disease. Shield me from the taunts and haunts of the enemy. Shield me from doubts, worries, anxieties, and fears in this life. Be my shield, be my hiding place!
