Calling on the Lord
Psalms 145:18-19 ESV
“The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth. He fulfills the desire of those who fear Him; He also hears their cry and saves them.”
Prayer is not wishing, prayer is a deep belief that God loves us so much that what we ask in His will, He will do it. Whether we are praying for healing for ourselves or for God to supply a need. God hears, God is attentive to our needs, and God is not stingy, He wants to give to us.
James says we have not because we ask not. And when we do ask, we ask with wrong motives. (James 4:2-3) God knows what we need but He wants us to come to Him and ask any way. We don’t have to beg, just ask.
About 95% of the time when I’m asking God for something, I know if it is His will, before I ask. How do I know? because everything I pray for fits into 4 catagories, (1) what I need and (2) what I merely want. (3) What I know is part of a provision according to His word and (4) a general asking just for mercies sake (subject to God’s will).
I am typically satisfied with His answers because of these 4 categories. Prayer has to be fervent, possibly knowing what His will is before we ask, and believing is a large portion of praying.
Prayer:
Father, I believe in You and I believe when I pray according to Your will, You will provide, In Your timing, not mine.
