Praying God’s Word 3
Psalm 91:5, 7, 9-11 NKJV
“You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you. Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, Even the Most High your dwelling place, no evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; For He shall give His angels charge over you…”
When praying God’s Word, we find passages that strike a chord with us, some things that say, I need that in my life. That requires searching, reading, meditating on God’s Word, seeking God’s heart for our lives and for our needs.
I find that when I have a need I go to God’s Word to see what He says about the matter or what a character in the Bible did under certain circumstances and what God did for them. This Psalm of David’s speaks about the Divine protection and the Providence of God in our lives. I find this Psalm a comfort to pray these words in times of trouble, times when fear may be lurking at the door.
Prayer:
Lord, “even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.” I will fear NO evil, because You are with me!
