Whoever Loses His Life

Luke 9:24 ESV
“For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.  For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses or forfeits himself.”

We get one lifetime. What we do in this life determines how we will spend eternal life. So if we live our lives trying to bring fulfillment to ourselves and honor only ourselves, we will lose in eternity.

All we take with us into the next life, is our relationship with Jesus. The only lasting investment for our lives is Jesus! The world says that we should look out for ourselves and get what is ours. That attitude equals loss in eternity.

Prayer:
Lord, “whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.” (Philippians 3:7-8 ESV)
