2 Corinthians 10:3-4 ESV
“For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh.  For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds.”

The most important things we need to learn and teach others is how to guard, strengthen, and renew our minds, because the battle of sin always starts in the mind. Strongholds can be world views such as materialism, secularism, relativism, communism, atheism. A stronghold can also be a personal attitude. Worry can be a stronghold.

Seeking the approval of other people can be a stronghold. Anything that you make an idol in your life can be a stronghold — fear, guilt, resentment, insecurity or it can be admoration of something or someone. All of these things can be strongholds in your mind. The Bible says that we are to tear them down. Thanks to the Bible we have knowledge of what to do about these strongholds.

Paul says, “For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds.” We possess the spiritual power to cast down these strongholds in our lives.

If we feel like we cannot do it on our own the Spirit takes over and pulls these strongholds down with us. If we still feel inferior to do so on our own, we need to grab the strongest Christian that we know and get them to fight with us. Strongholds can weigh down the spirit inside of us and can consume us if we let them.

Prayer:
Father, the weapons of my warfare are mighty through You and Your might is in me. I pull down every stronghold that the enemy has placed in my life, in the name of Jesus Christ my Savior, Redeemer and Lord. The enemy has no strength and no power over me as long as I stand in the power and Might of Jesus!
