Dueteronomy 28:13 NLT

“If you listen to these commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you today, and if you carefully obey them, the Lord will make you the head and not the tail, and you will always be on top and never at the bottom.”

Please notice the prerequisite in this passage; Listen to God’s words and obey them. It’s easier said than done, in some cases because we are free individuals, we tend to go our own way. Moses told Israel, if they will listen and obey, they will always be the head and not the tail.

The head is the leader, the decision maker. The tail has to be the follower. Do you remember the phrase the tail wags the dog? That means; A situation in which an important or powerful person or organization, is being controlled by someone or something that is much less important or powerful.

God wants us to be the head, not the tail, leaders and not someone that chooses to follow society and all the propaganda that they spill out. We follow God, God makes us leaders, the head, and we show society where true life begins, in Jesus!

Moses also said if we listen and obey we will be the top and not at the bottom. We need to be the voice of reason, we need to live by God’s sttandards, we need to be at the top and let all who do not choose God, choose to be followers at the bottom. I’m not judging people, I’m judging the lies of the enemy. He recruits those who just go along with whatever the world dishes out.

Prayer:
Father, help me to listen better and obey more. I want to be what you designed me to be, the head and not the tail, above and not beneath!
