Isaiah 43:2 ESV
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.”
Being overwhelmed is an everyday occurrence for some people. It feels like you can’t breath, and nothing is going to make it better. Although you try to be strong and rise to the occasion, it feels like you are going down underneath the water. Other people that do not experience these feelings don’t typically understand how it feels, They say things like, just breath, take it easy, forget about it. It’s nice to say but the person that is overwhelmed finds little comfort from those words.
Our passage today is like a life preserver for the anxious, because God is the one hope we can count on! “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you…”
Prayer:
Father, when the walls seem to be closing in and the water is rising, My hope, my trust, my confidence is in you! Help me!
