Luke 12:35 KJV
“Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning.”

This is figurative language about being ready for the coming of the Lord and being in service until Jesus comes. Girding up our loins is what an athlete would do before running a race. He would tuck his garment into his belt and he would be ready for action.

To keep your lamps burning has nothing to do with a lantern but everything to do in letting your light shine if your heart is pure. Understand, to let your light shine when there is darkness inside makes one vulnerable to the enemy. Be ready for action, keep your lamps trimmed (your heart and Spirit pure) and let your light shine. It brings honor and glory to God.
