Faith
Matthew 17:20 ESV
“…For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”
Jesus taught that faith is essential to receive God’s promises and witness His power, emphasizing that it is not about the amount of faith but about trust in God. Faith is more than mere belief; it is an active participation in trusting God, demonstrated through actions, obedience, and stepping out into the unknown despite doubts. This active trust involves a confident reliance on God’s character and promises, which empowers believers to endure hardship, pursue God’s purpose, and allow His Word and power to work in their lives. We need to stop worrying that our faith is too small and start believing that it is all up to God for what we need. Again, faith is trusting that God will supply for our needs in His timing. Faith is trusting in God alone, not our own abilities. The more we lean on God, the less of the pressure on ourselves to believe that we have too little of faith to receive.
Prayer:
Lord, we acknowledge that we trust you for our lives, our families, and our friends lives for our every need. In essence, we are looking to you and not our own faith. The measure of faith that you planted in us at salvation is all wee need for you to supply for our needs. Amen.
