Believing the Father

John 5:24 ESV

“Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.”

Believing that the Father has sent His Son to redeem the world is a central point in this passage. If we believe that the Father has sent Jesus to take the penalty of sin in our place then we receive Jesus, we accept Him as Lord, Savior, Master, Redeemer. The reward for this acceptance is eternal life. Eternal life is not an uncertain future reward that we hope to earn at the end of our life; it is a guaranteed possession that begins the exact moment we place our faith in Him. We pass the judgment seat, we skip right to a life with Him forever.

Prayer:

Lord, I pray that we hear You when we read Your words and believe that You are who You say that You are; the Son of God, the Lord of glory, the Giver of life, the beginning and the end, our Hope, our Redeemer, the Word of God in flesh, our Salvation. In Your name, Lord Jesus, open our eyes to see You, Amen!
