Unfailing Love and Faithfulness

Psalm 108:4a (NLT)

“For your unfailing love is higher than the heavens…”

This verse is not an embellishment. The psalmist was thinking of the vastness of God’s love. God’s love is so infinite, so gigantic that he wrote basically that God’s love cannot be measured. He is saying that God’s love is timeless, unlimited, and beyond understanding and comprehension. We feel God’s love, we can even see God’s love, but can we describe it to its fullest extent? He loves us so much that His mercy, grace and love reach down to sheol (the realm of the dead) and up through the galaxies. His love sent His only Son to suffer and die that we might have life. His love is so powerful that it forgives and forgets our sins. His love is so dynamic that it searches us out when we are lost and brings us back as sons and daughters of His own.   

Prayer:

Lord, You sought me out and cleaned me up so that I could be righteous in Your sight. I have no righteousness of my own, so You made me righteous by Your blood. As the old song says, “I was lost and undone, without God or His Son, when He reached down His hand for me.” Your love Lord is higher than the heavens, so vast, so powerful that You took a sinner like me and made me like You. Thank You Lord for Your mercy, Amen!
