Walking With God
Genesis 6:9 NIV
“This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God.”
Noah’s defining characteristics:
He was Righteous. This means he was morally upright, obedient to God’s will, and lives in accordance with His standards. It is about living in alignment with God’s character and purpose.
He was blameless without sin or ill reproach. He was morally pure in a society steeped in wickedness.
He walked faithfully with God. This phrase conveys a personal, covenant relationship with God. It means that Noah was obedient, trustworthy, and had a continual fellowship with God walking in His purpose.
For us, if we stay in fellowship with God on a continual basis and we are obedient to God, doing His will and not walking in our own standards, but walking in salvation through His Son, we too can walk with God.
Prayer:
Lord, I want to walk with You, help me Lord to listen intently, watch You faithfully, and speak to You continually. Lord, I cannot walk on my own merit, but I walk knowing that by Your sacrifice I am justified. Take my hand, lead me with You Lord, Amen!
