Our Citizenship

Philippians 3:20-21 NASB

“For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; who will transform the body of our lowly condition into conformity with His glorious body, by the exertion of the power that He has even to subject all things to Himself.”

We may live in the United States of America, but our citizenship is in heaven. Right now we are in a heavenly realm as part of the kingdom of God on earth. We do the things that we must to maintain our citizenship here on earth, but this is not our home. We belong with God in the Kingdom of God. So, we wait, but we eagerly seek the citizenship in heaven where we will be in perfect peace and in the presence of our Savior, the Mighty God and the Holy Spirit. We are subject now to the frailties of the flesh, but when we get to heaven, and lay our burdens down, we will be in a transformed body with no aches and pains, no sorry or weeping.

Prayer:

Lord, I seek a homeland to be with You forever. Although I have a foretaste of things to come by living in Your kingdom on earth, I eagerly seek my homeland in heaven; to walk on the streets of Gold and to worship and praise You face to face. Lord, I seek to be with You forever, Amen!
