Our Pain Others Gain

Philippians 1:12-14 ESV

“I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel, so that it has become known throughout the whole imperial guard and to all the rest that my imprisonment is for Christ. And most of the brothers, having become confident in the Lord by my imprisonment, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.”

Paul suffered much for the ministry of the Gospel, but his sufferings and cruel treatment that he endured strengthened many in his time and perhaps millions throughout the ages. Paul was joyful that his sorrows and cruel treatment gave strength to others that their testimonies were given with power and anointing.

We may or may not have suffered for the cause of Christ like Paul did, but what have we overcome in this life that may strengthen someone else? Use life’s experiences to encourage, strengthen and even give boldness to others in their walk with the Lord. It may seem strange to some, but the things that we have endured in our life experiences may give us the ability to help others. Could God use us to strengthen others through our pain?

Prayer:

Lord, we will never suffer and die like You did all the way to Calvary, but we have been through life experiences that we can use to strengthen and encourage other. Here we are Lord, use us for Your glory. In Your name Lord Jesus, Amen!
