Trusting
Proverbs 3:5-6
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.”
Solomon gives instructions to his son, and he gives him three pieces of advice; (1) Trust in the Lord with all of your heart, which gives no place to lean on anyone else.
(2) Do not lean on your own understanding. We typically try to figure out things on our own first and possibly find out it was the wrong decision. In this command Solomon is telling his son, God’s way is the only way.
(3) In ALL your ways acknowledge Him (God). In every area of our lives, we have to give everything over to Him and His wisdom, knowledge and understanding. He sees the big picture; we see life through a keyhole. When we give Him all of our ways, He will make our paths straight. Every choice, plan, and crossroads. Straight means God will align our steps with His purposes and keep us from detours that lead us to sin, folly, or wasted efforts.
Prayer:
Where You lead me Lord, I will follow. I give You my whole heart. I give You all my trust and I lean on You and not my own understanding. In all my ways Lord, I acknowledge You, make my way sure. Lead me in paths of righteousness. Help me in all my decisions. In Your name, Lord Jesus, I ask, Amen!
