Cleansing

1Corinthians 6:11 ESV

“And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.”

My brother’s friend Tillis was, well, in my estimation in high school as a dope head. That does not reflect his intellectual state of being, that was what he was in high school, a regular in the marijuana group. I counted him out that that would be his life. Then probably thirty years later I saw him somewhere and I thought, oh boy here goes, Tillis, what will he have to say. When he spoke, he had a brightness to his countenance. Instantly I could see that he had changed. Tillis had become a Christian. Talking to him he spoke briefly of his walk with the Lord and how he left the life of drugs for a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Tillis had become washed, sanctified and made righteous even though years earlier I had given up that he would ever amount to anything, Jesus never gave up on Tillis. When we give up on someone, Jesus never gives up!

Prayer:

Lord, no one is hopeless, no one is too far gone, no one is too young or too old for Your saving grace. Thank You for washing us, cleansing us, redeeming us, sanctifying us daily and for making us righteous, without spot or blemish. Please Lord, let me see others through Your eyes and not my eyes that are tainted with unwarranted judgment. In Your name Lord Jesus, Amen!
