Those In Need of a Healer
Luke 6:6-7 ESV
“On another Sabbath, He (Jesus) entered the synagogue and was teaching, and a man was there whose right hand was withered. And the scribes and the Pharisees watched Him, to see whether He would heal on the Sabbath, so that they might find a reason to accuse Him.”
In this story a man needed healing. He didn’t care if it was on the Sabbath, he just came to see the Healer that he had heard about. This affliction that the man had, had disrupted his life, probably hurt his lively hood, and he was the object of a lot of stares not to mention the speculation that sin had caused his affliction. It didn’t matter at this point, he just wanted to be healed and Jesus wanted to heal the man. The Pharisees were there to be spectators, judgmental skeptics, ready to judge the innocent. They didn’t care that the man suffered, they just wanted to be vindicated in their thoughts. It wasn’t enough for them that the man needed the healing. It didn’t matter to them that Jesus had the power to heal, all they could see was their own agenda.Daily we see the needy, and we know the Healer, be the one to promote the healing, be the one to introduce the needy to the Healer and never stand in the way of someone receiving their healing. No matter how we feel about the person, everyone deserves to be healed, be the facilitator.
Prayer: Lord, open my eyes to those in need of a healer. Use me to introduce those in need to the Healer. In Your name Lord Jesus, AMEN!
