Love and Peace

Isaiah 54:10 ESV

“For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love shall not depart from you, and my covenant of peace shall not be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you.”

Have you ever felt like things around you were crumbling and there was nothing that you could do about it? That was what Israel was experiencing during this prophecy from God through Isaiah the Prophet. They were being shaken to their core. Their houses and city were destroyed, a foreign nation had captured them, and they had to walk from Israel to Babylon a nine-hundred-mile journey, it would take them three to four months to walk there.

God’s words may not have pierced their souls as yet, but it would eventually. Because even in captivity God was with them and He blessed them and continued to speak to them. Yes, in the middle of captivity they could feel the love of God, and they experienced peace within themselves even in a foreign land that did not know God.

Prayer:

Lord, Your promises are ever in our hearts. We know that in the toughest of times, You are there and in control, if we give You full control. No matter what is going on around us, open our eyes to see You at work, bring us Peace and love. In Your name Lord Jesus we ask, Amen!
