God Working In Us

Philippians 1:6 ESV

“And I am sure of this, that He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.”

This “good work,” refers to the new life and spiritual transformation (sanctification) that God begins in each and every a person when they believe in Jesus Christ. This good work is an inner spiritual working that God is doing in us and through us. It’s a journey from our initial salvation through our daily growth to our final perfection (or our glorification). “…at the day of Christ,” refers to the future moment when believers meet Christ, either at death, the Rapture, or the Second Coming, when the work will fully be completed in us. Whatever stage of our experience we are at, He will bring to fulfilment the work of His anointing in us to a glorious finish.

Prayer:

Lord, You began a good work in each of our lives. We may not all be at the same stage of our walk with You, but we are all a work in progress. You started the work, You work in us and through us, and You will bring that perfect work into completion when we meet You face to face. In Your name Lord Jesus we pray, Amen!
