Overcoming Power

Romans 8:11 ESV

“If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.”

This indwelling Holy Spirit is the very power that raised Jesus from the dead, and that same power is active in our lives as well. That is overcoming power, believing power, receiving power, resurrection from dead works power, and the power to be like Jesus in every way. That power from the Holy Spirit brings us abundant, transformed life, empowering believers to overcome sin and live righteously. This power guarantees that God will give life to our physical bodies, and our spiritual nature. If we have God’s Spirit in us, we have the same divine power that brought Jesus back to life. That power isn’t just a memory; it actively works in us now to give us life, and it ensures that one day our physical body will also experience resurrection and eternal life, just like Jesus did.

Prayer:

Lord, revive us, fill us, restore us, strengthen us, purify us, and resurrect us. O Holy Spirit stir within us and bring us to the place where God wants us to be for His glory and honor. In Your name Lord Jesus we ask, Amen!
