Persevering

James 1:12 (ESV)
“Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.”

We all hate trials, troubles and temptations, but the fact remains, we find out what we are made of when they come. It shakes our resolve and we either see how weak we are, or how strong that we are, or how strong we need to become. James, the half brother of Jesus says that we are blessed if we remain steadfast under trials (temptations and testing). If we are strong during these times we will overcome. We don’t have to be strong on our own, the Lord of all is with us and He will never leave us. If I may add; if we see that we are weak, grace says, grow stronger and try again the next time. James encourages his readers by telling them that when they are strong, they will win the eternal crown that God has promised us. We do not have to be perfect, we just have to have the resolve to grow stronger each day when faced with trials, temptations, and troubles. As we get stronger, we sense the blessing each time that we grow.

Prayer:

Lord, lift me up and let me stand, plant my feet on higher land. Make me stronger each day, help me as I walk with You. Let me lean on You to make me who I ought to be.  In Your name Lord Jesus I ask, Amen!
