Learning to be Content
Philippians 4:12-13 ESV
“I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.”
We can be content in the situations that we face, even if they are unavoidable. We can learn how to be satisfied with little, and we can learn to be humble when we experience abundance. We can learn to be trusting when things are going wrong, and we can be thankful when things are going well.
We often demand our own way, or we want to control the things around us. Jesus has our best interests at heart. If things need to be changed in our lives, we lean on Jesus. We listen to the Spirit, we receive grace and mercy and we press on. We know that God will supply for our needs, (Philippians 4:19).
Prayer:
Lord, often I have demanded my own way, and I have paid the penalty for my stubbornness and attitude about life. Times are better when I trust You, and I lean on You. I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me! Your way is the best way; I submit my life to You. In Your name, Lord Jesus, I trust, amen.
