God’s Testimonies

Psalms 119:36 ESV

“Incline my heart to Your testimonies, and not to selfish gain!”

This could read, “Turn my spiritual heart, to Your verifiable facts of who You are and who You want me to be, in character, word and deed, and remove my abundant selfishness far from me.”

We realize that God’s testimonies are His divine facts, they are His moral law. They express God’s righteous character so we can see who He is and what He requires. After we have studied God’s testimonies and we compare them to our lives. We see how we are, how we carry ourselves, the way we act, and what motivates us. As we compare our ways to God’s words, and we realize possibly that we need a change. 

Prayer:

Lord, incline our hearts to Your testimonies, the truth, the divine facts who we should be in You. We ask in Your name, Lord Jesus, amen.
