For You Jesus

Colossians 3:23 AMP

“Whatever you do [whatever your task may be], work from the soul (heart, spirit) [that is, put in your very best effort], as [something done] for the Lord and not for men…”

We live in a world, in these times, where most people do not work diligently,  or wholeheartedly. They go about their day as if there was nothing to prove. I personally think there is something to prove, that we are children of the Most High God, and He deserves our best effort. I can hear the argument that “my company doesn’t pay well, or the work environment is terrible, or the other employees don’t care, so neither do I.” Who do we represent? Who is judging our work ethics? It is God first, people second.

This verse encourages us to approach all tasks, whether it is for a job or for the Kingdom, we are to give it our best. Our service is to God the Father, not mankind. We are to have integrity, commitment, and a pattern of excellence so that we have the praise of God and mankind. Through this, we can inspire others.  

God is watching us at work, at home, and when we are surfing the internet, and of course, when we are in the fellowship of believers, and in our private times.

Prayer:

Lord, help us to give You our very best, at home, at work, in the marketplace, and in the fellowship of believers. In Your name, Lord, speak to our hearts through Your words, Amen!
