Making Ready a World

Matthew 24:12-14 ESV

“And because lawlessness will be increased (in the end times), the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.”

When I read this passage, my mind seems to gravitate to the idea of where we will need to be in the last days: “But the one who endures to the end will be saved.” As I have frequently said, salvation is not just a one-time act; salvation is an everyday occurrence. Every day we need to be snatched from the flames, every day we need to be rescued, secured, and brought into the presence of our Lord and Savior. In the end times, we will need to be strengthened, encouraged, and empowered every day. When the lawlessness increases, and it is increasing daily, we know where we need to be standing, and that we must endure to the end. That will be our legacy, our testimony of who Jesus is to us. Never fear, as the world gets worse, Jesus is in control of our lives.

Prayer:

Lord, come along beside us and strengthen us for the end times. Never let fear drive us; never let the railings of the world intimidate us. Instead, as the world gets worse, make us stronger, more resilient. Use us to spread Your Gospel far and wide. In Your name, Lord Jesus, we need You, Amen!
