The Kingdom of God
Matthew 13:33 NASB
“He spoke another parable to them: “The kingdom of heaven is like leaven (fermented dough to make bread rise), which a woman took and hid in three sata of flour (almost fifty pounds of dough, enough to feed one hundred people) until it was all leavened (the entire lump of dough was affected).”
The kingdom of God works invisibly, but purposefully. As yeast does in dough, its effect is evident to all. Yeast does its job slowly and silently, but no one can deny its effect on bread. Like yeast, when we accept Jesus, His grace grows in our hearts and changes us from the inside out. As the gospel transforms our lives, it exerts an extensive influence in the world because of what it has done in our hearts through Jesus. As we receive the Lord, His kingdom becomes alive within us, slowly at first, and then it begins to grow. We become a part of who He is and His kingdom.
Be effective for the Kingdom, let your light shine for Jesus today!
Prayer:
Lord, use us to reach other souls for the kingdom. We do not have to change people, that’s Your job. What we have to do is spread the word, become fishers of mankind, then You will do the work of grace in every individual and plant the kingdom of God within them. In your name, Lord Jesus, we thank you, Amen!
