Insight
Proverbs 2:3-6
“…if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding…”
The command is to seek insight and understanding. Godly insight and understanding are the capacity to discern God’s truths, understand God’s words, and apply His wisdom to our own lives. It is not mere intellectual knowledge; this insight can grasp the deeper meanings of God’s words. Not seeking out God’s wisdom, insight, and understanding is a shortcoming on our part. It is our honor and privilege to discover God’s truths. Solomon says that if we seek these as we would seek hidden treasure, then we will find insight, discretion, wisdom, and understanding for our lives in every situation.
Prayer:
Lord, we seek You this morning. We seek Your insight, direction, discretion, wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. We don’t just want a glimpse of these things; we want to immerse ourselves in Your truths so that we will know exactly what You want for each of our lives. In Your precious name, Lord Jesus, Amen!
