Good Gifts

James 1:17 ESV

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.”

First, God, the Father of lights, is our Creator. Second, God, as the Father of lights, turned on the lights of the sun, moon, and stars, but more importantly, God as the Father of lights represents all that is pure and wholesome; that’s our God. Third, God gives us good gifts, and everything that we receive that is good can be found coming from God, not luck or good fortune. They are handed to us from His loving hands. Fourth, God does not change from being good and He will not change from being our source of life, love, and good gifts. 

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for everything that has come to my family and me. Thank You for Your love, mercy, grace, and salvation. Thank You for never changing, and that is something that I can always count on. In Your name, Lord Jesus, I pray, Amen!
