Boldness

Ephesians 6:19 ESV

“…And also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel…”

Paul is asking for prayer to be bold in proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Amazing since he is one of the boldest people on record in the New Testament. He was totally against Christianity to the point of killing people that practiced Christianity, and then through an intense encounter with Jesus He began preaching the Gospel. Paul was severely beaten and bruised for preaching the Gospel of Jesus, but that never stopped Him. He was put in prison multiple times for preaching the Gospel, but even in prison he wrote letters to churches to build them up and encourage them. He turned from his own people, the Jews and took the Gospel to the Gentiles (those who had no hope), and thousands came to Christ. Through his writings billions have come to Jesus through out the last two thousand years. Still after all of that, I believe Paul would still ask that people would pray that he would receive boldness to spread the Gospel.  

Prayer:

Lord, give us boldness to get out of our comfort zone to proclaim Jesus to all who will listen. We have some of the greatest tools at our fingertips to spread the Gospel; phones, computers, the internet, email, text, the list goes on and on of the avenues that You have provided to spread the Gospel. Give us boldness Lord to work for You. In Your name Lord Jesus we ask, Amen!
