Spreading the Words of Jesus

Mark 4:26-27 ESV

“And He said, “The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground. He sleeps and rises night and day, and the seed sprouts and grows; he knows not how. The earth produces by itself, first the blade, then the ear (of corn), then the full grain in the ear (of corn).”

First, the Kingdom of God is not just the end of this life in heaven, but it will include that time as well. The Kingdom of God reigns in our hearts and lives. God’s attributes should be living in us and through us from now through eternity. The attributes in us are for His glory, it’s His Kingdom.

If we spread the word of God (scatter seeds) in ways that He would have us share the Gospel according to our knowledge and ability, God will use that to touch lives. We cannot make changes in people, all we can do is give them Jesus and His truths. We cannot force spiritual growth, (I wish we could). Paul said in 1 Corinthians 3:7, “So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth”.

So, the seed planted (what we say and do) for His glory, we put that seed in the lives of others, it begins to produce changes in the person (this is beyond our control it is up to the Holy Spirit), then the seed we planted becomes the full grain. This is all brought about by the work of the Holy Spirit. Remember, we plant, God gives the increase.

Prayer:

Lord use us today for Your glory. Use us to give Your teachings and Your words to others, with whatever platform or abilities that You give us. Then we will watch You work. In Your name Lord Jesus we ask these things, Amen!
