The Holy Spirits Work In the World

John 16:8 ESV

“And when He (the Holy Spirit) comes, He will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment:”

The Holy Spirit may seem like the silent member of the trinity but I assure you, His work is immense and His voice is heard all over the world at all times, day and night for those who will listen.

This verse describes a specific design of the Holy Spirit, but His work is massive in the hearts, minds and spirits of every believer.

He will convict the world concerning sin: The root of sin is found in unbelief in who Jesus is as the Savior of the world. Unbelief has crept into the hearts of two thirds of the world, so His job is extremely wide spread.

He will convict the world of righteousness. Jesus is the only way back to a Holy God. The Holy Spirit will manifest to the world the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Jesus is the preeminence of God. God has set forth the mandate that salvation will come under no other name but Jesus. Christianity and Catholicism are the only religions that confess this truth.

The Holy Spirit will convict the world of judgment because He will pronounce judgment on all who reject Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

Prayer:

Lord, the Spirit is speaking to every one, to convict of sin, of righteous found in You, and of the judgment to come. I ask that I would be more pliable to the Holy Spirit. That I would have listening ears to hear what the Spirit is speaking to me. Anoint me then to speak what the Spirit is speaking to me. In Your name Lord Jesus I ask, Amen!
