Wisdom for Circumstances

James 1:5 AMP

“If any of you lacks wisdom [to guide him through a decision or circumstance], he is to ask of [our benevolent] God, who gives to everyone generously and without rebuke or blame, and it will be given to him.”

Often this verse is plucked out of James and used in many situations, but I want to use it where it belongs. James says, in light of verses James 1:2-4, the circumstances of testing that we go through, if we do not have the right wisdom for the circumstance, just ask God for the wisdom, knowledge and understanding. James says that God will gladly give each of us what we need to pass the test and come out winners in Jesus. He says that God will not look down on us, or rebuke us, because we do not know how to pass the test. He will provide what we need and the wisdom to get through those tough circumstances.

Prayer:

Lord, I don’t have to pretend to be tough or a now-it-all. You know me better than I know myself. You know my strength and my resilience. You know what I’m capable of. Give me wisdom, guidance and direction in all situations that I find myself. In Your name, Lord Jesus, I ask, amen!
