God’s Words
Psalms 119:105 NIV
“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”
God’s words will guide us, if we investigate His words and read with understanding. Bible reading is not all about getting through the Bible in a Year. Yes, that is a great goal, especially if we listen to an app or on biblegateway.com and follow along with the written word. What benefit is that? We will hear things that we have never heard before, so we mark those things down and study them later. Underlining in the Bible or making notes in a notebook is a great idea for retaining what we have heard and read. Why would we do this? Because God’s words are an illumination to our insight and His words will direct our path. When we are doing our own thing, it’s hard to follow God, but when we seek wisdom in His words, He makes every path illuminated so that we can see clearly and avoid the pitfalls. Sometimes we wonder how we missed the mark or got off God’s path. Well, finding out where we go from here is found in His words. God knows where we are in our journey and His words can lead, and guide us into His presence.
Prayer:
Lord, show me the way to your truths. I cannot see unless I have a clear direction and an illuminated pathway to follow. I have made many mistakes in life Lord, and almost everyone could have gone better or been avoided if I would have leaned on You, and trusted in You, and looked deeply into Your words. In Your name, Lamb of God, help me to follow You and Your words, Amen!
