Faith
Hebrews 11:1 AMP
“Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses].”
Faith is complete trust in God’s promises even without having the physical proof. Faith is the firm foundation of the things we are hoping for and praying for. It is like getting a guarantee. This does not imply that we will get everything that for. There is a Divine purpose and plan for each of us. We will receive, but it is to the discretion of the Father, knowing what we need more than we know what we need. God is not stingy; He loves to lavish us with goodness, but allow God to give us the very best, not just what we think may be the best. Please understand this verse is not a stand-alone verse, it is the beginning of the great faith chapter that tells how the saints of old trusted God and God did far more than those people asked for. That is why verse 2 says, “For by this [kind of] faith the men of old gained [divine] approval – Hebrews 11:2 AMP)”. Sometimes God gave things that were not asked for. God wants to do the same for each of us, but sometimes we ask in error what God wants to do in our lives. Ask, seek, knock, but trust God for His best.
Prayer:
“Lord, we put our trust in You. We think that we know what we want and need, but You see all and know all and You know what is best for us. Not our will, but Your will be done in our lives. In Your name, Lord Jesus, we ask, Amen!
