The Goodness of Our God

Psalm 116:8-9 ESV

“For you have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling; I will walk before the Lord in the land of the living.”

God has done all of these things for me continuously all of my life, even when I did not know that He was delivering me. I think back in my life, and I remember a few times that God delivered me from death, but I will never know how many times He actually delivered me. I think of the years that I traveled for work and I never had an accident; how many times did He deliver me from death. I remember some very painful times in my life when my heart was broken, God wiped away every tear. I remember a few foolish things in my life where I stumbled and fell, God picked me up from every stumble. Not to mention the thousands of times He kept me from straying off the paths of life.

Therefore, I will walk before the Lord as a testimony of His goodness, as gratitude for His love and faithfulness. I will proclaim the goodness of our God forever while I am here on this earth.

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for all that You have done for me, the thousands of times that You have saved my life and the thousands of times that You have kept me from straying from Your goodness and mercies. Thank You for protecting, helping, healing and restoring my family, and my friends. I will live as a testimony of Your goodness to me. In Your name, Lord Jesus, I pray, Amen!
