Life Abundantly

John 10:10 ESV

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I (Jesus) came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”

Jesus told the people that day that what satan has to offer will steal, kill, and destroy their joy, their peace, and contentment, and eternal security. In contrast, 

Jesus said that He came that they may have life, real quality of life, not just an existence. A life of hope, meaning, fulfillment, and joy that will eventually lead them into eternal life, a life of bliss. Abundant life is spiritual fulfillment, eternal security, and a present, intimate, relationship with God.

Prayer:

Lord, I pray that none of our families will have to endure pain and suffering, although this life seems to be abundant with its share of tragedies and sorrows. Though we have had things stolen from us, and we have felt the blast of satan’s power, we look to You, we will not fall prey to his schemes or his destruction. We hold onto You, Lord Jesus, our Rock, our Savior, our Lord, and Master. The Giver of life, and of hope, help, healing, restoration, and peace. We hold on to You, and we receive Your abundant life within us today. In Your name, Lord Jesus, we seek You, Amen!
