Wise Counsel

Psalms 16:7-8 ESV

“I bless the Lord who gives me counsel; in the night also my heart instructs me.  I have set the Lord always before me; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.”

I accept the counsel of people, and mostly the counsel of my wife because I believe the Lord uses her to strengthen, secure, uplift and at times settle me down. I value wise counsel, I often receive counsel from God’s words it is wonderfully pure. I can always ask questions in my devotion time, or any time, and I know that God has a solution for every problem, every care. God’s word has counsel for every situation that I may be going through. It may not always be a problem, sometimes I just want clarity on a subject or thought. I can say with confidence that I understand David’s Psalm that we are reading today because “I have set the Lord always before me; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.”

Prayer:

Lord, I bless You this morning. I praise and adore Your name. Lord, I need Your counsel, especially in the watches of the night when my heart may be heavy or I am pondering things in my mind. I know with confidence that You are by my side and I will never be far from You to receive Your counsel. Lord, I trust in You, Amen!
